When this K-Mart Shopping Center in Mesa required
extensive parking lot renovation. American Asphalt
consulted with the property manager to determine
the most effective and effecient repair options.
The first task was to fill 80,000 linear feet of cracks using Poly-Flex
III. This was followed by removing and replacing 20,000 square feet
of failed asphalt. Due to high volume of traffic in this center, special
materials were required to preserve the paving. American Asphalt is
is an expert at the application of the Petromat® Sytem, a protective
membrane for longer pavement life. Over 470,000 square feet of Petromat
were applied, thus extending the pavement life by at least 50%. This
was followed by an inch and a half asphalt overly and final sealcoating
with Poly-Kote Ta-1000.
A special Requirement of the job was to keep the center open during
construction. American Asphalt implemented a traffic control plan which
allowed the center to maintain its normal business throughout the period
of construction. And the entire project was completed on time and on
budget. |
